A very Good Morning to you all! 5am wake-up with the birds, but everyone slept beautifully! We've been making shadows in the early morning sunshine...the simple pleasures in life are the best!

The Year 4 camp-out so far! We're all been fed and watered, moved into our tents, learned to tie reef knots and cross-hitches with Maddie's Mum (Beavers) and now it's free time! Camp fire and marshmallows next!

Design Technology: Making Roman and Celtic shields!

The final Forest Schools session took place in Celia's gorgeous garden, we popped corn on the fire, toasted marshmallows, built dens, drank hot chocolate, even whittled some sticks!

Our gorgeous entries for the Easter Egg competition!

Paramedic Simon visits us to teach CPR, what to do if someone is choking and how to use the Recovery Position, incredibly important life-skills for all of us!

Uncovering fossils! Thank you so much to the PTFA for providing this wonderful enrichment experience to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!

Forest Skills - Tadpoles, wind speeds and seedlings!

Forest Skills - Birds and nests

Up and Under Gymnastics

I would to say a HUGE THANK YOU to all the families for helping the children to research their special person for our WW1 exhibition, 'We will remember them'. The children could not have come to school so well-prepared and full of information, photos, postcards, letters and artefacts, without your help at home. Thank you also for supporting the children and attending our exhibition, the children loved the chance to show off all their hard work and to share the lives of their special people with all of our visitors. The classroom was packed!

Thank you so much!

Mrs Oborne

We had a request for the shadow puppet movie, from our Class Assembly, to be put on the website, however the file is too large to upload. If you would like a copy, please send in a USB stick and I will copy it for you! Mrs Oborne

A fabulous Fencing session as part of our P.E. and Sport Enrichment programme!

A fascinating learning walk around Corsham with Julian Carosi, author of 'Corsham Revealed'.

In case you were unable to attend our Class Meeting...

Welcome to Year 4!

We hope you have had a wonderful, relaxing summer break and are now ready to immerse yourselves in lots of new learning with Mrs Courtney, Mrs Oborne, Mrs Dutton, Mrs Rowe, Mrs Valentine and Mrs Sloan!

Mrs Courtney teaches all day Monday, Tuesday morning, Thursday morning and Friday morning, while Mrs Oborne teaches Tuesday afternoon, all day Wednesday, Thursday afternoon and Friday afternoon.

We have a P.E. session on Fridays this term. It is essential that all pupils have appropriate kit, please could these be in all week in case there are other sporting opportunities.

Plans for the term and year are available on our class page.

Home Learning

The children now have new yellow Home Learning folders which will come home every Friday, returning to school the following Thursday, ready for marking and spelling and tables tests. The Spelling homework involves a Look, Cover, Write, Check sheet with set words and a Year 4 Spelling menu sheet with includes 12 choices of spelling activities. Each week the children must complete at least 1 of the activities for Homework, on the back of their LCWC sheet. Each week they choose a different activity.

Please help us to support your child's learning by hearing them read regularly, and helping them produce their best learning. Also, please help them remember to bring their Home Learning folder on a Thursday!
