A HUGE THANK YOU!
I just wanted to say a GINORMOUS thank you to everyone who was a part of my goodbye video! Many a happy tear was shed yesterday when we watched it in school (too many by Mr P)!
I want you all to know that if I could stay and teach you another year I would've liked nothing more, but sadly my term here at St. Patricks is over and so I will have to wait until you are on the news doing something incredible to see you again! (Unless I manage to pop my head in for a surprise visit!)
You are remarkable, unforgettable and amazing year 4 and I can't wait to see you all today!
Dear Parents and Children of year 4,
I hope that this message finds you well after an enjoyable and hopefully relaxing Easter break.
On our class page as of today you will find a link to the home learning activities as well as a link to the home learning answers. Every Friday the following weeks home learning will be available here and at the end of the week the answers will be available to you for you to see how you have done.
You will find Maths and English activities here as well as variety of different learning across the different subjects. Spellings will be following the same programme and are split into the usual two groups. Maths is following the same scheme - White Rose Hub - which has an excellent tutorial video for each day of learning. If your child finds the maths learning and concepts too challenging, please feel free to look at the year group below's learning.
If you have any questions please contact me through the school admin email and I will reply as soon as possible.
Hello year 4!
I hope you are all doing okay and have kept those excellent smiles on your faces!
I am so sorry I haven't been able to personally check in with all of you these past few weeks and I can't wait to hear from you all. We have some exciting things in store for after the Easter holidays so I hope you all have a great break and are ready to get back to it!
I have uploaded a quiz under home learning on professor assessor for you all to have a go at so I can see how you are all doing and I must say it is excellent to see you all going for those times tables high scores! Special mentions to J.L, F.E and H.R for their scores for last week and J.L, L.D and A.Mar for this week, topping the leaderboard. I look forward to being able to celebrate even more members of the class for their amazing efforts!
I have enjoyed being in school, (even without my incredible year 4 team) and starting after half term you should expect to hear from me A LOT with even more pictures and even video updates!
Below I have also linked some virtual museum tours as we can still enjoy all that history, art and science from the comfort of our homes.
You are incredible year 4 so keep showing those cheesy smiles!

Welcome to Year 4!
We hope you have had a wonderful, relaxing summer break and are now ready to immerse yourselves in lots of new learning with Mr Painter, Mrs Courtney, Mrs Dutton and Mrs Quinlan
Mr Painter teaches all day Monday afternoon, all day Tuesday and wednesday, Thursday morning and Friday all day. Mrs Courtney teaches Monday morning and thursday afternoon.
We have P.E. sessions on Mondays and Fridays this term. It is essential that all pupils have appropriate kit, please could these be in all week in case there are other sporting opportunities.
The children have Home Learning folders which will come home every Friday, returning to school the following Thursday, ready for marking and spelling tests. The Spelling homework involves ahandwriting sheet with 10 set words and a Year 4 Spelling menu sheet with includes 12 choices of spelling activities. Each week the children must complete the handwriting sheet in their best handwriting, on the sheet. Each week there will be a maths activity that is mandatory and this will often be Professor Assessor as we are getting ready for the national times table check. There will also be an optional enrichment task and anything created for this will be celebrated in class.
Please help us to support your child's learning by hearing them read regularly, and helping them produce their best learning. Also, please help them remember to bring their Home Learning folder on a Thursday!
