Year 1
Dear Year One Families,
We hope you had a lovely Easter and had the opportunity to relax and catch up with loved ones. Our next class book is a wonderful story called 'Lights on Cotton Rock'. There is lots to discuss and unpick. In the coming weeks we will be looking at the ascension and Pentecost stories. In History we are learning about our Queens of the past!
Just a few reminders for this term.
Mrs Sykes will be teaching in class on Monday and Tuesday. Mrs Cawthorne will be in class teaching on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. We have some fantastic teaching assistants, Mrs Smith (Monday and Wednesday), Mrs Hogg (Tuesday) and Mrs Pillinger (Thursday and Friday). The children will work with Mrs Cawthorne and Miss Webb for their PE sessions.
PE is on Wednesday and Thursday. Children need to come to school in their PE uniform on Wednesday and Thursday. Full school uniform needs to be worn on Monday, Tuesday and Friday.
Children need to bring their water bottle and reading book into class each morning. Their water bottle is in the classroom and so always available if they need a drink. They will keep coats and lunch boxes in their locker for the day.
We will be sending home their reading book each day, it is important that your child gets the opportunity to read and reread the book throughout the week.
Please see below the link to our annual 'Meet the Teacher' afternoon held in September.
