HL will begin 25th September and will be then be set on Fridays and should be submitted on line by the following Thursday.
Unfortunately google classrooms is not ready and we apologise on behalf of our service provider. As a result, home learning will be a paper copy this week. Please see the word document for details of this week's work.
Spellings Home learning:
Children will be given spellings to learn each week and a spelling menu of ways to practise at home. Parents will also receive a hard copy of the spelling test so you can see how your child is getting on and practise any errors. Some children will be working on the Year 5 and 6 word list and others will be revising Year 3 and 4 word list. All statutory spellings can be found in your reading record. Everyone has a new one of these! All children will receive the Year 5 spelling rule lesson in school to ensure we are all on track. Please upload some evidence of your child's spelling learning to google classrooms - this could be pyramid spelling, rainbow writing, joined handwriting 'speed spelling' or just completing the practise sheet. We will keep a log of results and follow up in class. Some children learn spelling easily and they can be challenged by using a thesaurus to widen vocabulary - there will always be a challenge activity to find new words. Start with 'serendipity'!
Maths Home learning:
Maths will be set on professor assessor each week. Please make sure your child has a paper and pencil to work out sums carefully. You may need to support them with this.
Reading Home learning:
As always, reading is a key part of home learning so please sign the reading record to let me know of great comprehension discussions taking place around a text or comments on fluency or expression. We are focussing on VOCABULARY Victor this term so jot down any juicy or interesting words that you read or hear in your reading record so we can discuss in class.
